5 Apps to Help You Save Valentine’s Day
With the big day just over a week away, you might find yourself panicking because you haven’t planned anything for Valentine’s Day. Frankly, I find that Valentine’s Day usually sneaks up on me and I’m consistently scrambling to make it special. Luckily, technology has made it easier than ever to impress your significant other, even if you’re a little late to the party when it comes to planning. Here are a few apps that can help you on your mission:
1. Open Table
Open Table has been around for quite some time now but it’s easy to forget how convenient this little gem is. If you haven’t tried Open Table, it will allow you to browse available restaurants and reservations. You can even make reservations right from your smartphone. Open Table also offers a Dining Rewards Points program, giving users the opportunity to collect points toward getting coupons and Dining Cheques.
If a fancy dinner out isn’t quite enough to impress your significant other, a weekend away could be just right for you. Depending on where you’d like to go, there might still be some great options available on Airbnb. This app will let you browse short-term vacation rentals by price, neighbourhood, amenities, etc. You can book within the app, making it easy to plan a romantic last-minute adventure.
Couple is an app designed to give couples a place to communicate and share their lives privately. This one lets you send messages, share videos, leave voice messages, and express yourself through photo filters. Couple keeps all your special moments saved securely in one place. It also aims to improve communication with your significant other by allowing you to share to-do lists, set reminders, and share your location. If you’re in a relationship and haven’t tried this app yet, I recommend giving it a try and there’s no better time to start than Valentine’s Day.
4. AllRecipes Dinner Spinner
If you’re planning to stay in for Valentine’s Day you might be looking for a special meal to treat your significant other with. That’s where an app like Allrecipes comes in handy. Allrecipes has been around, with a web presence, for a long time. In fact, it was one of the first recipe sites I used because it contained a large database of recipes with reviews. Now, Allrecipes is available in a mobile app featuring a personalized food feed with trending and seasonal recipes, the ability to create your own recipe collections, and sharing functions so you can share your favourite recipes with family and friends. With it’s large database of recipes, you’re sure to find the perfect Valentine’s Day dinner recipe in this app.
5. Tinder, Bumble, Coffee Meets Bagel, etc.

Or at least Mr. or Ms. Right Now. These aps are all a little bit different and I recommend checking them all out to figure out what works for you.
